TEXT: ACTS 26:12-19; 2 CORINTHIANS 12:1-6
TITLE: SEEING IS BELIEVING DOING
INTRODUCTION
- What is the benefit of having something, and not maximizing the full use of it?
- Therefore,
PAUL SAW A LIGHT
- Brighter than the [noonday] sun
- Shining round him and those who journeyed with him
- Those with Paul saw the light, however, Paul saw Jesus
- Acts 26:16, “I have appeared to you for this purpose...”
- Jesus appeared to Paul through the light
- There are times when others will not see what we saw...
PAUL HEARD A VOICE
- Those with Paul hear a noise, however, Paul heard Jesus
- Acts 9:7, “And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless,
hearing a voice (noise or sound) but seeing no one.”
- Acts 22:9, “Those who were with me saw the light, but did not hear the
voice of Him who spoke to me”
- There are times when others will not hear what we hear...
JESUS WAS CALLING PAUL TO DO
- After Paul saw and heard, he was led to do...
- Acts 9:6, “Lord, what do you want me to do?”
- Acts 22:10,“What shall I do, Lord?”
- Acts 26:16-18,Jesus tells Paul what to do...
- “...to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you.
- I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you...
- ...to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God,
- that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among
those who are sanctified by faith in Me.”
- Jesus was speaking to Paul, and not those who were with Paul
- Others will not see not hear Jesus because Jesus is not speaking to them
- Sometimes, there is a human tendency to pursue normative experiences
- Your relationship with Jesus is unique and specific to you
Jesus will cause you to see Him because Jesus has something for you to do
