TEXT: Psalm 23:1-4
TITLE: My Living Faith is in the Shepherd
INTRODUCTION:
❖ Do we truly believe every word of this statement?
❖ What things try to hinder us from truly believing the Lord is our Shepherd?
❖ What other things try to lead us away from God?
The Bible provides multiple reminders that we should only serve one God:
❖ Exodus 20:3 Ten Commandments
❖ Joshua 24:15 “As for me and my house”
❖ I Kings 18:21 Elijah contending with the priests of Baal on Mt. Carmel saying to the People of Israel “ How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God follow Him, If Baal is God, follow him”
❖ Acts 17:16 Paul in Athens “the unknown God”.
❖ These are just a few biblical examples but current day examples include: money, politicians, social connections, horoscopes, zodiacs, tarots, crystals and rocks – WE DO NOT SERVE OR ALLOW THESE THINGS TO LEAD US!
