Introduction:
A. I know a football team named...
B. I know a song named...
C. I know a shoe store named...
THE PROBLEM OF A SHALLOW HEART
A. Sower = God
B. Seed = The word of God
C. Type of Ground = A person's heart
D. "Some seed fell on the stony ground"
E. "It did not have much earth and quickly sprang up"
1. Stony ground = a hard, Rocky surface covered with a thin layer of soil. The hot sun striking on the thin layer of soil would warm the rock beneath causing the plant to spring up rapidly.
2. Once the sun would come up, it would scorch the plant causing the plant to wither away.
F. Problem: Someone hears the Word and receives it with joy. Yet, there is no root, __________________________.
1. The word makes it IN the heart, but not VERY DEEPLY.
2. They endure for a while.
3. But, when tribulation and persecution come (Because of the Word), they immediately fall away.
GOAL: HAVE A GOOD HEART TOWARDS THE WORD OF GOD
A. What did God do to you? Why are walking away from God?
B. Hear the word of God?
C. Understand the Word of the God
D. Grow
E. Produce
CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK: THAT I WILL ENSURE THAT MY HEART IS NOT SHALLOW TOWARDS THE WORD OF GOD
