JESUS IS WORKING AS WE ARE OBEYING

INTRODUCTION
A. The nobleman had heard (seen) of the healing miracles of Jesus ​
1. 2:23, “many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did”
2. 3:2, ”no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
B. The nobleman also heard (seen) how Jesus had healed ​
1. It was personal
2. It was with a touch
C. The challenge with testimonies: We, sometimes, expect Jesus to respond to us the same way that He responded to others ​
THE NOBLEMAN’S AGENDA
A. “Come from Cana of Galilee to Capernaum to heal my son who is about to die.” (v. 47) ​
B. “Sir, come down before my child dies.” (v. 49) ​
C. The distance from Cana to Capernaum​
1. The distance was 16 miles
2. It takes from 5 – 6 hours to walk 16 miles
3. Walking was the conventional, traditional, standard way to travel
D. We have our agendas for when, where and how we desire Jesus to assist us ​
E. Our agendas are generally based upon what is conventional, traditional and
standard ​
JESUS’ PLAN
A. Jesus does the opposite of the man’s request ​
1. The man asked Jesus, “Come, my son will live.”
2. Jesus tells the man, “Go, your son will live.”
B. The man believed and went ​
C. At that moment, the man’s son was healed ​
D. Matthew 13:58, “And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith” (NIV) ​
E. “Jesus says it, I believe it and do it” ​
F. At the moment we start obeying Jesus, He starts working on our behalf? ​
CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
