Introduction

1. How often do we hear something about a situation and act first, pray later?

2. Act first, pray later is a dangerous formula. Point One – Show Concern, Not Complaint

Great Trouble and Disgrace, Great Affliction and Reproach

Do Not Kick Your Brothers and Sisters While They're Down

Nehemiah’s righteous response of prayer and repentance

Point Two – Repent and Remind

Verses: 5-9

When we repent, we must remember who we are talking to

and what we are asking for.

○ “Lord God of Heaven”

God’s Promises, God’s Word will never return void.

Point Three – Prepare to Be Used

Verses: 10-11

If we are the people of God and pray to God sincerely, God hears us and will use us.

God’s attentiveness is all the attention I need.
