TITLE: IF GOD SAID IT, GOD WILL DO IT
TEXT: EXODUS 33:12-23
INTRODUCTION
A. God has told us what He has called us to do
B. We have questions
1. Moses: See, You say to me, ‘Bring up this people.’ But You have not let me know whom You will send with me
2. Me: What are my questions?
C. Yet, You have said,
1. I know you by name
2. You have found favor in My sight
GOD, I WANT TO KNOW YOU
A. Moses / Me
1. If I have found favor in Your sight, show me now Your way
2. That I may know You
3. Note: I know that God knows me
4. That I may find favor in Your sight
5. Note: I find favor in God’s sight by honoring God’s way
B. God
1. My Presence will go with you
2. I will give you rest
GOD, I WANT TO BE WITH YOU
A. Moses / Me
1. If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here
2. For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found favor in Your sight, except You go with us?
3. Note: God’s presence validates God’s favor
4. So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth
5. Note: God’s presence distinguishes from everyone else on the earth
B. God
1. I will do the very thing you have asked
2. For you have found favor in my sight
3. And I know you by name
GOD, I WANT TO “SEE YOU”
A. Moses / Me – Show me Your glory
B. God
1. I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you.
2. You cannot see My face; for no one shall see Me, and live
3. While My glory passes by, I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by
4. Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen
5. Note: After seeing God, then what?
