TITLE: HAS GOD TOUCHED YOU?
I WANT MY LIFE TO BE THE EVIDENCE OF GOD’S TOUCH
INTRODUCTION
- There are three accounts of Paul’s spiritual encounter… (Acts 9:1-9; Acts 22:3-11; Acts 26:9-18)
- Paul’s spiritual encounter drastically changed the remainder of his life
GOD’S LIGHT
A. Why do we have light? God said it (Gen 1:3a)
B. How did we get light? God did it (Gen 1:3b)
C. What does light do? Light is beneficial for:
- Illumination
- Warmth
- Growth
- Strength
D. Jesus is God’s Light
- Jesus’ life is the light – (John 1:4, 5)
- Jesus is the light of the world – (John 8:12)
- The glory of God and the Lamb shall illuminate the New Jerusalem
We are reflectors of the light (John 1:8)
GOD’S TOUCH…
A. God’s touch is intimate
- God touched Paul’s eyes
- The eyes are sensitive
- The eyes are important ( “… you put your eye out “ )
- The eyes are a lamp that provides light to the body (Matt 6:22, 23)
B. God’s touch is intentional
- God’s touch blinded Paul physically
- God’s touch sighted Paul spiritually
- Paul saw and heard things inexpressible in words (2 Cor 12:1-6)
- God blinds us to some things that we clearly see other things…
- “Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things” (Ps 119:37)
- When God touches what goes in, He influences what comes out
- God ultimately desires that we see what He sees… (1 Cor 2:16)
