7. We know that we should serve. However, how do we serve?

DO I KNOW THE LORD?

1. Hophni and Phinehas did not know the LORD
   1. How could they grow up in the temple and not know the LORD?
   2. How could they serve in the temple and not know the LORD?
2. Do I know the LORD?
   1. What am I doing? (Matthew 7:21-23)
   2. What am I desiring (Philippians 3:10)

DO I HONOR THOSE WHOM I AM SERVING?

1. Hophni and Phinehas did not honor the people
   1. They stole from the ones they were supposed to be serving
   2. It was all about them
2. Do I honor those whom I am serving?
   1. “In order to lift someone you must love them, and they must know that you love them.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
   2. If I do not honor you, it will be difficult to serve you

DO I HONOR THE LORD?

   1. They stole from God
   2. It was all about them
   3. If they would not honor God, they could not honor the people

   1. What is my relationship with God really like?
   2. Do I really honor God?
   3. If I will not honor God, I cannot honor the people
