RESURRECTION SUNDAY

Resurrection Sunday

On today, we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, Savior and Friend Jesus, the Christ. Were it not for that supreme sacrifice that He made for us when He died on the cross for us, we would be left in and to our sins and unable to anything to resolve them. I am so grateful that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that since I believe in Him I will not perish but have everlasting life. Do you believe in Him? Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Do you know where you are going after you die? Can you confidently say that after you die you will open your eyes in the presence of God? If not, you need to get to know who Jesus is.
During this season of Lent, we asked the question: Who Is This Jesus? Our goal was to assist each of us in establishing and/or renewing our relationship with Jesus. Even though we may already knew Jesus as our Lord and Savior, my prayer is that we deepened our relationship to know Jesus as a friend. That is how Jesus desires to know us – as a friend.
Therefore, as we sought to answer the question: Who Is This Jesus?, we emphasized the Seven Signs and the Seven “I Am” statements found in the Gospel of John.

Following is an overview:
JESUS’ SEVEN SIGNS
1st Sign – Jesus turns water into wine (John 2:1-11)
2nd Sign – Jesus heals a nobleman’s son (John 4:43-54)
3rd Sign – Jesus heals a man lame for 38 years (John 5:1-15)
4th Sign – Jesus feeds the 5000 men (John 6:1-14)
5th Sign – Jesus walks on water (John 6:15-21)
6th Sign – Jesus heals a blind man (John 9:1-41)
7th Sign – Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead (John 11:1-44
JESUS’ SEVEN “I AM” STATEMENTS
1. “I am the bread of life” (John 6:48)
2. “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12)
3. “I am the door of the sheep” (John 10:9)
4. “I am the good shepherd” (John 10:11)
5. “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25)
6. “I am the way, the truth and the life” John 14:6)
7. “I am the true vine” (John 15:1)
Prayerfully, you have a deeper, clearer picture of who Jesus is, and you have a desire to want to know Him even more. If you seek Him, He will permit you to find Him.
