TEXT: JOHN 15:9-17
TITLE: I DO NOT KNOW WHY GOD LOVES ME SO MUCH
INTRODUCTION
A. Jesus will be crucified on the next day following the text
B. If you knew you were going to die on tomorrow, what would you do?
LIVE IN JESUS’ LOVE
A. As the Father loved Me
B. I also have loved you
C. Abide in My love
1. Abide = Live / Commune [Live in My love / Commune with Me in My
love]
2. Abide is a command, that must begin at that very moment
HOW?
A. Keep Jesus’ commandments
1. Keep = To guard / To maintain as opposed to leaving
2. Just as Jesus kept His Father’s commandments
B. If I keep Jesus’ commandment, I will live in His love
WHY?
A. That Jesus’ joy may remain
1. Remain = The same word, “Abide”
2. Abide = Live / Commune [Jesus’ joy may Live in me / I Commune with
Jesus in His joy]
B. That My joy may be full (Full = To supply abundantly, To impart richly)
WHAT? (IS THE COMMANDMENT)
A. That I love others as Jesus loves me
B. “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends”
C. “You are my Friends if you do what I command you”
D. “I no longer do call you servants...YOU I call friends...
1. The servant does not know what the master is doing
2. However, I have told you everything the Father told me
WIIFM? (WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?)
A. I am chosen by Jesus
B. I am appointed by Jesus
C. I am chosen and appointed to produce fruit
D. I am chosen and appointed to obtain answers to my prayers
THEREFORE, LOVE EACH OTHER
