1. Love is experienced

2. Love engages the senses (See, Hear, Feel, Smell, Taste)

3. “I know you love me”

1. Love is a gift

2. Love gives

3. Love gives itself

JESUS’ LOVE IS PRESENT TENSE
A. The Book of Romans was written in A.D. 57

B. Jesus died between A.D. 30-33

C. About 25 years later, Paul speaks of Jesus’ dying in the present tense

D. “God demonstrates His own love toward us...”

1. The verb, Demonstrates, is present, active

2. The action is occurring while the speaker is making the statement

3. Therefore, Jesus is still demonstrating His love

JESUS’ LOVE IS PRESENT
A. God’s love is demonstrated through Jesus

B. Jesus is the evidence of God’s love

C. Jesus’ love engages the senses [See, Hear, Feel, Smell, Taste]

1. They saw Jesus fellowshipping with the outcasts

2. They heard Jesus’ words of love and compassion

3. They felt Jesus as He touched and healed

4. They smelled the fish that Jesus multiplied from the boy’s lunch

5. They tasted Jesus’ [transformed from water] wine

D. Would you die for:

1. A righteous person (who does what he ought) – Hardly

2. A good person (who does as much as she can) – Possibly

3. A sinner still sinning – ????????

JESUS’ LOVE IS A PRESENT
A. While we were still sinners...

B. At the right time, when I was weak and ungodly, Christ died [instead of / on behalf of]

C. Jesus demonstrates His [a reflexive pronoun = His own] love
