Jesus loves me as the Father loves him
1. As = according as, just as, even as, in proportion as, in the degree that
2. The same love that the Father has for Jesus, Jesus has for me
3. How does the Father love?

Abide in Jesus’ love
1. Abide = remain, continue to be present, dwell/live
2. “In my love” = “In the love, that which is mine”
WORK
Keep Jesus’ commandments
1. Keeping Jesus’ commandments helps us to remain in Jesus’ love
2. “As” Jesus kept the Father’s commandments and remained in his love
3. Jesus came to do the will of His Father
a. Luke 2:49 – I can do the Father’s will when I am young
b. John 5:30 – I should not seek my own will
c. John 5:36 – Doing the Father’s will verifies the Father sent me
d. John 8:29 – The Father is with me as I do the Father’s will
e. John 17:4 – The Father is glorified when I do the Father’s will
DO + WORK =
Abiding in Jesus’ love + Keeping Jesus’ commandments = Joy
1. Jesus’ joy in me
2. My joy is full – to fill to the top / complete
SIMPLIFIED WORK
Love one another as Jesus loves me
1. As the Father loves Jesus, Jesus loves me
2. As Jesus loves me, I love others

Being a friend of Jesus
1. It is one thing to be a of ‘rescuee’ Jesus
2. It is another thing to be a servant of Jesus
