INTRODUCTION
A. What does friendship look like?
B. What does Jesus’ friendship look like?
JESUS’ LOVE
A. Goal: That I remain in Jesus’ love
B. Modeled after the Father’s love for Jesus
C. Jesus loves me as the Father loves Him
D. If I keep Jesus’ commandments, I will remain in Jesus’ love, just as Jesus keeps the Father’s commandments and remains in the Father’s love
E. Intimacy = I am in Jesus’ love
JESUS’ JOY
A. Goal: That Jesus’ joy may remain in me
B. When Jesus’ joy remains in me, my joy will be full
C. My joy is full because I understand that it is not my joy…
D. Intimacy = Jesus’ joy is in me
JESUS’ FRIENDSHIP
A. Goal: That I love others as Jesus has loved me
B. What does this love look like? Laying down my life for a friend
C. How do I become Jesus’ friend? By doing His commands
D. I shift from servant to friend
1. Servant – no intimacy, no transparency, no relationship, no bond
2. Friend – intimacy, transparency, relationship, bond
E. Intimacy = Calls me friend
F. Intimacy = Jesus chose me, commissions me and contributes to my success (whatever I need, the Father provides)
