PASTOR D'S PEN:
Embracing Our Beliefs
As a predominately Black Baptist Christian Church, our beliefs are foundational to how we live, worship, and connect with one another. We affirm that God is both Creator and Sustainer of all life. Genesis 1:1 reminds us that God spoke the world into existence, infusing it with purpose, beauty, and order. This belief in a Creator who is still active in creation shapes our understanding of the world, urging us to care for it and recognize the divine in all living things.
Our faith is also expressed through sacred ordinances such as baptism and communion. These are not mere rituals but profound expressions of our relationship with God and our community. Baptism symbolizes our new life in Christ and our entry into a community committed to justice and love. Communion, on the other hand, is a time to remember Christ’s sacrifice and to recommit to living out His teachings in our daily lives.
Church etiquette is another vital aspect of our faith practice. It reflects our respect for God and one another. Whether it’s the way we greet visitors, participate in worship, or engage in community service, our actions should always embody the love and grace we have received. In our gatherings, we strive to create a space where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and encouraged to grow in their faith.
In embracing these beliefs, we affirm our identity as Black Baptist Church striving to be welcoming to people from all nationalities, ethnicities and backgrounds. We celebrate our heritage, lean into our traditions, and remain committed to living out the Gospel with authenticity and joy. As we continue this journey, let us hold fast to the teachings that guide us, allowing them to shape our lives and impact the world around us.
