I HAVE MORE FAITH TODAY

I HAVE MORE FAITH TODAY…

Praise God, the restrooms and baptismal pool for the new church are completed. All of the other major renovations and additions are completed except for the audio/video systems and carpet. We yet have some smaller projects to complete, and solicit your support in providing sweat equity to complete them.

I was thinking about this journey last week, and was reminded of the numerous times that God stepped in and gave us favor with everyone who has worked on this project. Literally, every step of the way we exercised faith in God. Honestly, there were several times when we had nothing but faith. God responded to our faith, and worked miracle after miracle after miracle. Indeed, for those who have worked closely and regularly with this project, our faith has increased. I can honestly say that I have more faith in God today than I did in October of 2014.

Many of you will remember that in October of 2014 I preached a series titled, “I Have Faith, But I Think I Need More”. The foundational verse for the series was, “Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” Over the next few weeks, I will provide the Sermon Outlines from the series for us to review and be re-encouraged regarding where we are. May we all be encouraged to answer the foundational verse with a resounding, “Yes Jesus, You will find faith in me.”

OCTOBER 5, 2014 TEXT: MARK 6:1-6

TITLE: I HAVE FAITH, BUT I THINK I NEED MORE…

JESUS CANNOT DO ANY MIRACLES (BECAUSE OF MY UNBELIEF)

INTRODUCTION

A. Can Jesus really do all things? See verse 5…

B. Will Jesus really do all things? Yes. When we exercise faith

C. The greater we exercise faith, the greater we experience Jesus’ power

D. No Faith - No Power, Little Faith - Little Power, Great Faith - Great Power

WHY JESUS CANNOT DO MIRACLES…

A. We cannot see past the person

1. God chooses to work through people

2. We do not get to decide those through whom God chooses to work

3. If I am against those whom God chooses, I am against God

B. We cannot see past the past

1. That is who they used to be, but who are they now?

2. “Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future”

3. “Living in the past versus Living out of the past”

4. We must get past the past

C. We cannot see past ourselves

1. “Prophets are honored everywhere except people of their hometown, their relatives and their own family

2. We do not allow people to be who God has called them to be…

D. IT’S US… The problem is not Jesus’ ability. The problem is us…

WHAT IS THE OUTCOME?

A. Jesus will marvel because of our unbelief

B. Jesus will move on to others
