TEXT: I Thessalonians 5:16-18
TITLE: I am Thankful for It ALL
INTRODUCTION:
- As Christians, we often want to pick and choose what we are grateful and thankful for.
- It is easy to be thankful for the good, but how can we be thankful in the bad as well as the good:
1. Rejoice Always
2. Pray without ceasing
Rejoice Always and Always Rejoice (v.16):
- Rejoice: feel or show great joy or delight.
- Always: at all times; on all occasions – as a last resort failing all else.
1. Psalms 32:11
2. Isaiah 61:10
3. Philippians 4:4
Pray Without Ceasing (v. 17):
- Prayer is necessary for a relationship with God
- Prayer is not just what we say, but what we communicate to God through our actions and behaviors:
★ If we put prayer in, we will get prayer out!
God’s Will For Us is In Christ Jesus, to Give Thanks in ALL
Circumstances (v.18)
- Not in some, not just in the good, not just in the favorable circumstances, but in ALL circumstances!
